Jukeboxes Go Digital with PODDS MPE

PODDS MPE to provide content to digital jukeboxes; Owners able to download tracks immediately upon release

February 22, 2006 – PODDS MPE (www.promoonlympe.com), the leading label-endorsed digital distribution system in the United States, today announced that it will provide digital jukeboxes with music exclusively from the PODDS MPE System. With the aid of PODDS MPE, jukebox owners will now be able to download tracks immediately upon release, ensuring that their systems are constantly provided with only the freshest content specifically targeted to their respective demographic markets.

The new MAX FIRE jukeboxes, distributed exclusively by SML Entertainment, will feature touch screen technology and the capacity to hold over 50,000 songs.  PODDS MPE will digitally deliver music to these jukeboxes via its safe and secure delivery system, alleviating fears of industry piracy.

Operators who own jukeboxes in multiple locations will be able to move individual tracks and video content to each box via a single centralized computer. The MAX FIRE jukeboxes are wall mounted and operated using a bill and coin system, making them ideally suited for use in bars, clubs and restaurants. The campaign will roll out in Canada first, debuting in additional markets shortly thereafter.

“After evaluating a number of alternatives available to us, the PODDS MPE System was the hands-down favorite,” said SML President Tony Fisher.

“PODDS MPE has already established itself as the clear choice in the music industry. We are pleased that the jukebox industry has now chosen to jump on board and take advantage of this tremendous innovation.”

“Music sent digitally to a jukebox via the PODDS MPE System ensures that it is able to reach new audiences in a secure and controlled way,” said Dean Ernst, Director of PODDS MPE. “The ability to pick and choose which tracks will be added to your jukebox provides owners with great command and guarantees a musical selection that is highly targeted and meets the needs of their clientele.”

PODDS MPE has been leading the music industry in digital distribution in the United States since its launch in October of 2004. To date, the system has over 6,200 individual registered users. In excess of 9000 tracks have been distributed through the PODDS MPE System for labels including Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, EMI Music Group and Warner Music Group. 2005 marked the partnership deal with Mediabase 24/7 monitoring service and the unveiling of the first ever digital distribution system with Spanish language capabilities, allowing it to serve the growing number of Spanish speaking radio stations and Latin label divisions in the United States. In 2006, Radio and Records announced that they will combine with PODDS as the exclusive sales representative for the PODDS MPE System.

PODDS MPE recently announced the availability of a MAC version of its digital distribution system as well as the release of version 2.0 featuring a number of key upgrades including full iPod support, music video delivery capabilities and linear HD audio support.

PODDS MPE is used and supported by every major broadcaster including Clear Channel, Infinity, Citadel, Cox, Cumulus, Salem Communications, Radio One, Emmis, Entercom, Sirius, Journal, ABC, DMX, CBS, Jones Radio, Yahoo, AOL, Music Choice, Disney, Univision, Westwood One, Regent, Premiere Radio, Next Media and many others.
